Trojan Poses As Hillary Clinton

When we first heard the words "Hillary Clinton video" and "malicious download," we assumed it was a piece from a Fox News segment, maybe a teaser for the next episode of O'Reilly.Security vendor Symantec said it is a legitimate computer threat being sent out in spam to unsuspecting recipients. As we have seen in other instances, the spammers are using a Google URL to make the link look safe.

It is not, and clicking it pulls in a Trojan downloader to the PC, one that an up to date antivirus engine should catch. As always, people are cautioned not to blithely click on links in email. Any gem of political news arriving by spam can be confirmed easily through any major search site. If there is a new Clinton interview video in circulation, it's certain to have gained attention from supporters, and possibly from detractors if it makes her look bad.
