Malice has replaced 'fun' hacking

hackingbeware Internet attacks are more covert than in the past and intended more for financial gain than for fun, said a report released Tuesday by San Diego-based Websense.

The report summarizes Websense Security Labs' findings for the first half of 2006. Websense makes Web filtering and security software.

The report said that “toolkits” for hackers are an emerging trend. The kits, made by professional writers of malicious code, are often for sale on the Internet and allow less technically sophisticated users to launch attacks.
